I am thinking about my little girl, Sophia.  I love her so much.  I am asked often when did I meet her?  I haven't met her.  I knew from a picture the she was mine.  I am meant to be her mommy.  I am working as hard as I can to get over the biggest hurdle to become her mommy...money.  Money is what stops a lot of families from even considering adopting.  I didn't let the fear of what if...I can't come up with the money, what if I'm nuts for even attempting to become a mommy without a large savings in the bank, without having a husband to help and support me through this journey.  I prayed, believed, and had faith I was on the path that God wanted me on.  I jumped in with both feet.  Everything seemed to fall into place.  I was on the journey to the child of my heart.  As of right now I'm scared the paper trail that comes with a "Paper pregnancy" (adoption) is moving right along which is awesome and so very exciting but the money isn't following suit.  I am doing everything I can do to raise those funds to put my money into her fund.  I know God is on this journey with me to another child of His.  I am asking for all of your help.  Please if you can donate anything either through a fundraiser (I am a Mary Kay consultant, I will be holding another QuarterMania very soon, I am hoping to host an on line auction etc) or by giving a tax deductible donation

Sunday April 17th

I went to a quartermania benefiting the Red Cross - Japan efforts.  It was put on by some new friends.  There was Cash for Gold guy and I turned in three piece ring set and a necklace from high school and mad $130!  I also won a darling knit hat (brown with pick dots and pink flowers) and two cute hair clips for Sophia, when I bring her home!! 

I am looking for another place to hold my next quartermania in Orange County next month.  Wish me luck!

I am also looking for people willing to hold a quartermania in thier area.  It really isn't that hard and they are a ton of fun.  Believe me I can't throw a party to save my life and I was able to pull this off pretty successfully if I do say so myself.  My quartermania raised $883!  If you are willing to give it a go to help Sophia and me be a family just let me know.  bringsophiahome at yahoo. com

Oops I forgot to update

So I had my home study visit on Sunday and well it went....SMOOTH AS SILK!!  I had awesome social workers.  I was pretty stressed the morning of so off to church I went (I was going anyway) but I was a "Hot mess"  I was crying at every song or testimony.  I thought my knee was trying to bounce its way to the moon LOL.  I asked for a blessing and from the moment the blessing started I found peace.  I remained tear free my leg decided to stay attached to my body, and all was good.  Even the animals were pretty well behaved for being puppies and not the cuddliest of cats. Thank you for all the prayers I know that were said on my and Sophia's behalf. 

On a side note.  I am a new Mary Kay consultant to help bring Sophia home.  If you need anything please let me know.  I will be placing an order on April 22, 2011 and 50% of sales will be going to Sophia's fund.  I hope to be submitting my paperwork soon to the USCIS and then the ball will really start picking up speed.  So I want to try and raise her FSP for when I get that travel date!!

The next step

Oh my Sunday is my home study visit!!  Wish me luck!  I'm very excited and pretty nervous too.  It's a little nerve racking to know there are people coming to you house to make an opinion on if they think you will be a good mom.  I hope they can see my heart and know how much I love that little girl already and want to be the best mother I can be!
