Just venting

I want to start by giving a great big THANK YOU to all of you have supported my journey either financially, emotionally or both.
As many of you know this is a rollercoaster of a journey. There are so many emotions and extremes of those emotions that go on all at the same time.

I think the biggest hurdle for me and probably everyone else is the money factor; especially with the economy the way that it is. There are so many wonderful families who are fundraising to give these precious children families of their own. I have both asked for money and donated to others raising money. I know money is tight, but if everyone were willing to take lunch to work one day or forgo the coffee shop coffee for one day. That would be a $5 that could be donated to a family in need. Many people say to me “If you don’t have the money maybe you shouldn’t be adopting.” My answer is how many of them have children and if prior to getting pregnant and having the baby someone said you have to pay
$30, 000 right now, who could have written a check or gone to the bank and pulled that amount out? It is an expensive thing to adopt but the life you are saving and the love of a family is PRICELESS!

It was love at first sight with Sophia. After praying and thought I know she is my daughter. God has blessed me along this journey so many times. Every time I needed money for the next step it has been there, somehow, someway it was there. I know that is God. I have faith he will provide. I also know I have to do everything I can to raise those funds.

Warning a little whine coming…..

I don’t want you to get the wrong idea I am VERY grateful for all the blessings and donations that have come my way. I see people’s funds get fully funded overnight, literally, overnight. I am struggling to grow Sophia’s fund and honestly wish it would make a giant jump to fully funded or even close. I have sent in my forms to the USCIS and soon will be sending the paperwork to Sophia’s country, with the hope that I receive her referral and meet my Sophia.

Whine is over.....Now just a question.

Is there anyone out there willing to hold a fundraiser on Sophia and my behalf? Whatever you would like to do would be appreciated. I have fund Quartermania’s are the fastest and fairly easiest way to raise funds.

Prayers are always welcome and worth so much.

  2. I totally feel and understand your frustration. I believe sometimes some people rather just look the other way and pretend they didnt see/hear your plea.

And it is as simple as giving up your lunch just once or twice a week! Some are just selfish. Keep your head up, you will get there!!! HUGS!!

  4. I understand how you are feeling Megan! I am feeling the same way. I have been fundraising too, and working pretty hard at it, and we haven't even raised enough to pay for the homestudy. I just keep believing that God's timing is perfect, and it just isn't His time to give us the money to save a child. Praying for you as you fund raise. I know of Adeye at no greater joy mom, she is amazing! I will pray she decides to help you if she can.
