EEEK

I'm totally excited and totally freaking out all at the same time.  I just got an email that my homestudy has been reviewed and released back to my home study agency God's Families International Adoption Services and should have it in my hot little hands early next week!!  Then I send it to the federal government.  They give me the go ahead to get fingerprinted and then they give me the OK.  Then I will send it to Sophia's country for translation. They will give me a travel date and I will God willing go and meet my daughter and hold and kiss her.  (tears....) I will submit my paperwork to the courts/judge in her country and pray mightly that they see/hear/and feel my heart and the love that I have for her and will give to her our whole lives.

All this also means I need to come up with a lot of money in a short period of time.  I understand that I need my travel money and the adoption program $ (about $17,000) before I travel. I have $2000 towards that right now...Hopefull I won't travel until it's cold in her country which will mean lower airfare.  If I were to travel now it would cost me $1230.00 which won't happen since the Feds will take a bit.  If I were to travel the end of October the fare drops $200 which could be used for room and board.

The scariest thing is everything is in God's time and I don't know what his clock says.  If he wants me to go now it will happen.  I know that.  My earthly mind though says "I don't have the money how will I come up with $20,000 in 2-3 months??

I am not good at asking for help but I need help.  I know God will provide but I have to do everything I can to make this happen and that means not sitting back and saying God will get me the money.  I am open to any help or suggestions.  I need and am asking for all the prayers you can spare.  We can (God, you, and me) can get Sophia home.

Ok guys here we go!

  3. Congratulations!

Have you applied for a grant? Some info here http://transracial.adoptionblogs.com/weblogs/adoption-grants-part-two and http://grants.adoption.com/.
I also haven't seen Sophia's button on any other blogs I've visited, so maybe you could contact some other RR families that already brought their kids home, and maybe get your button up ( and maybe get some fundraising advice)

    Good luck!
