Reminder this is not only a place for me to share with you all about the journey to Sophia but also a way for me to journal my thoughts feelings and well document everything that happened. :) So forgive me if I ramble or give TMI (To Much Information).
So let me start before my trip. I got a last minute correction to a document that I had already apostilled on Wednesday of this week. I received notification at 2pm on Friday that I need to pick up the correction and get it apostilled. Okay doke I thought how is that going to work. I was 20 minutes from the location I needed to pick up the document from and then about 1 hour and a half from Los Angeles. The SOS (Secretary of State/apostille office) closed at 4:30. Would you believe I made it by 4:10 and then spent 2 hours driving home.
It wasn't until I was in Dusseldorf, Germany on one of my two layovers that I got a chance to review my documents. That is when it happened... I discovered on of the documents was missing. :( OH NO. Well I can't do anything about not only because I was in Germany but because I had no internet connectivity.
Side note happened in-between leaving and arriving in Dusseldorf. I landed in Toronto, Canada and had an attack which I self diagnosed at IBS. I had less than an hour to make my connection, which was not easily easily located. Also had to go through security again so no bathroom for me. OY! So not only am I sweating and feeling miserable from the IBS but from the running. I can't remember the last time I was that sweaty. I almost missed my connection but wasn' the last one on. Phew!
It was nice to see familiar and friendly faces (Irina and Boris) at the airport and yet another IBS attack. I'm guessing it's stress
We get me checked into my Hotel and it has a bathtub! Now I remember why I paid the minimal amount more for the upgrade. OH WAIT WHERE IS THE PLUG AND THE HOT WATER. Out to the front desk. The receptionist speaks so English. She sent her Security Guard/Maintenance man. So about 20 minutes I have a shower with low water pressure. But ever so greatful for HOT water. AWWW So note to self and others who are traveling you might want to go and get one to bring you.
I know there is more and that this post is probably poorly written. I kept literally falling asleep while typing. I think I'm going to bed pretty soon I know it's early but seriously can't keep my eyes open and I actually slept on the last plane ride to Moscow and it was only 2 hours long.
I go for my physical tomorrow and then to see my baby girl on Tuesday morning. So very excited.
Good night to you all and I hope you have a great day.
